ARC App Update

The eagerly anticipated launch of the ARC app finally arrived on 5/12!

And in the last 2 days, we've already held our first Welcome to ARC session to orientate the community with the features and content on our app as well as our first major audio room session with ARC Stellar, Ray Chan, Founder of Memeland and 9GAG. It was an intimate fireside chat that lasted over 2 hours where we talked about everything under the sun from community-building to what makes life beautiful.

If you're FOMO-ing right now, here's how you can access the app:

Download the app here:

Do note that your Pyxis and ARC Stellar needs to be in the same wallet in order to access the app. There are two ways to authorise your wallet; the first is by using Metamask Mobile. Alternatively, there is a desktop flow built by the team at ARC that allows you to connect your wallet to the app. The wallet to app integration was built with Consensys and is a read-only operation making it safe to connect. Additionally, it’s an extremely smooth process.

If you require help, please drop an email to support@arccommunity.com and they’ll follow up with you soon!

Recap Of The Last Town Hall

Amidst all the chaos of the FTX fiasco, it was business as usual for the ARC community with numerous townhalls and AMAs being hosted within the Discord server.

Held on 14/11, this was a 50 minute session to inform and update Pyxis and Stellar holders on what’s to come next. The key takeaways were:

  • ARC is NOT affected by the FTX disaster.
  • An official contributors programme, named ‘The Renegade Crew’ is to be initiated. The initiative will be formed via interest-based, community-led sub communities. The seven sub-communities which will power ARC will be:
  1. Community squad 🧑‍🤝‍🧑
  2. Creatives squad 🎨
  3. Builder squad 🔧
  4. Legal squad 🧑‍⚖️
  5. City Leads 🏙️
  6. Writers squad ✍️
  7. Moon squad 🌕

You can express your interest in becoming a part of The Renegade Crew by applying via this form. You can contribute to a single squad or multiple simultaneously. Just make sure you have at least 6 hours per week minimum (per squad) of available time to contribute. You can find out more via this Notion article.

There was also mention of the Mini City Rollout. We have been extending our presence outside of Singapore! IRL meet-ups have already taken place in Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Tokyo. More will be happening in Taipei, Sydney, and Manila - keep an eye out for the forms on the Discord server to RSVP to these upcoming events.

Can Anything Good Come Out Of This?

However, as much as the future looks bright for ARC, the events of the broader market could not be ignored. During the darkest hours of this time, the leaders of ARC stepped up to host a townhall inside the Discord to discuss the market news and offer support to those listening in attendance.

This townhall, although not planned with any firm mission in mind, seemed to have executed its job efficiently; starting off predictably downcast as the rehashing of recent events were talked about, but developed into an upbeat forecast for what can be born out of the flames of all this. The change in tempo specifically came when ARC’s resident vibe maestro, Gabe, asked the question to all in listening in: “Can anything good come out of all this? What is the silver lining?”

@donovanchoy responded astutely: “This whole disaster is not happening at the protocol or DeFi layer. If it was, then that would be bad news because the issue would be closer to the root. A big CEX doing bad things doesn’t fundamentally diagnose a problem with Web3 technology. Builders aren't stopping. You can’t stop people creating. This is not a big problem in the long term.”

@446f6d1 gave some constructive, measured analysis on the situation, saying “It’s easy to get caught in the emotions and frustration, but this actually takes away the hype and gives you a space to ask what your product actually does; some time to ask ourselves what value does your project actually add to your target audience?”

Ending things on a high note, despite the sombre undertones of the subject matter, Co-Founder Elroy Cheo finished by reassuring the audience with the following: “I firmly believe whatever ARC builds will last through the times. We will have tough times, but there’s a lot of good times ahead.” with Gabe rightly proclaiming “We pick up the pieces and move along.”

ARC Stellar Updates

ARC hosted a star-studded bash at Lantern in Singapore which boasted guests such as Taiwanese actor Chen Bolin, American rapper Snoop Dogg’s son Cordell Broadus and Web3 darling, Irene Zhao.

The top 5 Pyxis contributors were invited to join the gathering, held on 29/9. Additionally, the hard working quintet had the opportunity to enjoy a fireside chat with the three founders prior to the event.

Merch Lookbook Reveal

The Season 0 ARC Lookbook was released on 18/10. Modelled by Chen Bolin and Kim Lim - with a special appearance from Elroy Cheo, making his modelling debut - the lookbook showcases what we have to look forward to when merch goes on sale in the coming year!

ARC 🤝❤️ World Vision

ARC announced it has partnered with World Vision to assist in the living and learning environment of children in Yen Thuy.

Together with the organisation, ARC is aiming to raise funds to sponsor solar panel solutions for kindergartens so that the children there will no longer have to worry about hot and dark classrooms, air pollutants, or a lack of clean water and food. Read all about it here.

Spreading The Good Word

Our tireless ARC advocates have been busy attending events and captivating audiences at speaking engagements recently, here are some of the highlights:

Community Events

Late November saw five IRL meet-up events for ARC community members. The first was held in Kuala Lumpur (26/11), with another held the following day in Bangkok. The week was rounded off in Seoul and Hong Kong on 30/11, and most recently on 4/12, the ARC Community gathered in Tokyo.

The next event will be held in Taipei on 14/12. If you’re in town, RSVP here.
